On this page, I analyze various works of fiction through a historical/political lens. The stories presented in fantasy, science fiction, etc. present a fascinating view into the hopes and worries of everyday folk. I am a firm believer that no such media can truly be apolitical. All media we consume is shaped by the culture, time period, and political bias of the original author.

I will also share some of my historical and political research notes as I continue my academic studies. A great deal of my fictional projects draw inspiration from my nonfiction studies. My main area of focus is on the modern histories and development of Third World states. In particular, I examine differing strategies of development following the end of colonial rule.

Obviously, this page will contain both objective information as well as my personal opinions. Before you comment on a post, please refer to rules on the "about" page. If you feel like venting your distaste over my posts, there are many other sites where you can argue over the merits or failings of my writings.

From the onset, I am much more sympathetic to Third World states than most other Western analysts. Most in the Global North hold a condescending attitude towards non-Western states, and I aim to challenge this chauvinistic mindset. Generally, I am very supportive of liberation movements in the Global South. I also firmly believe that colonialism is the primary cause of the Global South's underdevelopment, and that neocolonialism by the Global North actively works to continually keep the Global South underdeveloped.
